A note from Ollie Gordon posted 12/3/2006:
REUNION ACTIVITIES - INTERESTED?
IS THE INTEREST THERE? DO IT AGAIN?
Just
as for our high school days at Lansdowne-Aldan High School, all we have left
now from our 50th reunion celebration are the memories (and a coffee mug). But fine memories they are! Our weekend reunion proved to be a huge
success, and many old friendships were rekindled. We shouldn't let those flames go out. What are your thoughts on how to keep the high level of interest
alive; what would you support to keep the fire going? Please reply by e-mail to olliegordon@msn.com
to the following questions to indicate your continued interest in reunion-type
activities!
1. Are you interested in
attending another LAHS reunion get together?
2. Should we plan for
another full-scale reunion weekend?
3. How often should a
reunion be held?
a. Every five years?
b. Every three years?
c. Every two years?
d. Every year?
4. The class of '57 is
having their 50th next year, and they have mentioned to us that, with the
passing years, they might be interested in joining with the class of '56 in
having joint reunions every two or three years (making reunions more affordable
for the soon to be dwindling number
attending). Would you be interested in joining
with the class of '57 in planning future reunion activities?
5. Would you prefer less
involved reunion "get-togethers", e.g. luncheons or dinners only?
a. rather than full-scale
reunions?
b. in addition to full-scale
reunions?
6. Would you be interested
in regional reunion "get-togethers," i.e. for
Delaware Valley classmates, Maryland-Virginia classmates, Florida
classmates, or California classmates etc.?
7. Would you be willing to
help plan regional reunion activities?
8. Would you be interested
in other reunion activities?
a. Holding reunions in locations other than the Philadelphia area, e.g.
Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Orlando, or San Francisco?
b. Gathering classmates to travel together, e.g. cruises or tours abroad?
c. Other?
9. Would you be willing to
help plan other reunion activities?
10.
Based on the pleasure, expressed by all who planned for and worked on the 50th
reunion, and the success of that reunion, would you be willing to help plan reunion
activities, for the future?
