John R. Chism, Jr.   (Another picture at bottom)

Following graduation, I enlisted in the US Marine Corps and was active from 1956 to 1962. I married in 1959 and had two children: My son John, III, is currently the Vice-president of Q-mart, in Quakertown, PA. My daughter, Sandra Marie, obtained an engineering degree and is currently residing in British Columbia, Canada.

In 1984 I married again to Mary Ann. My stepson, Dennis is the owner of Shanesville Hotel in Boyertown, PA. My stepdaughter, Ann Marie, is the mother of Connor and stepmother to five children ages four through 22. I have a total of nine grandchildren.

I retired from Main Line Ford in Wayne, Pa at the age of 64. Mary Ann is Office Manager of Don Rosen Porsche Audi in Conshohocken, PA, and plans on retiring eight years from now at the age of 70.

In March I open our shore house and stay until November. Mary Ann joins me on weekends. Mary Ann and I are both expert fishing people. Our boat, Semper Fi, is docked at Minmar Marina, in Sea Isle City, NJ. I still hunt deer in Pennsylvania. Thanks to the Marine Corps I am an expert rifleman.

The years have brought many changes: I had brain surgery in 1982; the curly hair said “Good-bye;” eyeglasses and hearing aids have been added, as well as an extra 60 pounds. In spite of these new conditions, I am happy. Big parties still continue. Do you Lords and Ladies remember 1955 and 1956? Wow!

A salute to the Lords who remember Saul’s Drugstore, Gladstone Manor, having a few cold ones at the Dump (our little bar in Darby) and best of all the Skyway Tavern. Thinking back to that night is a little scary.

See you all soon.
