 Joy DeBenedictis Squillace

After graduating from LAHS, I worked for two years at a Finance Company in Upper Darby.

In 1958, I married Joe Squillace (Class of ’51). We had four children, one boy and three girls, who were, and still are, the best thing that ever happened to me. After 29 years, my marriage ended in divorce.

I have 15 grandchildren ranging in age from 21 to 4 years old. They keep me young and quite busy. Going to basketball, soccer, ice hockey, volleyball, softball games, etc., fills a good bit of my time, but I love every minute of it. I work part time for a Financial Planner in Newark, DE. I am an advocate for helping to find the cause and cure for Autism. My beautiful 14-year-old granddaughter has autism. She was diagnosed at the age of two.

As I look back on my years at LAHS, I would have to say my fondest memories are being part of the undefeated Field Hockey Team, the Friday night dances, our Senior Trip, Senior Prom and our crazy slumber parties.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.
