John (Jack) Nawn After high school and four years in the Navy, I went to college and earned three engineering degrees. At Villanova, I received a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Electrical Engineering. At the University of Pennsylvania, I received a Master’s of Science in Systems Engineering. My wife Peggy, a school librarian, and I have been happily married for 44 years and are blessed with three sons. John, the eldest, is a civil engineer and vice-president of a major engineering firm. John and his wife Barbara have two children. Our second son, Joe, is vice-principal at St. Joseph’s Prep. Joe and his wife Mary have four children. The youngest son, Matthew, a former navy lieutenant, is a mechanical engineer working at the National Institute of Health in Washington. Matt and his wife Beth have two sons. Peggy and I have eight grandchildren, the oldest is 17 and the two youngest are 7 months. After 30 years in industry, I took early retirement in 1990 to pursue my first love as a college professor. As a professor, I taught physics and engineering at Ocean County College in New Jersey before I was named Dean of Science and Engineering. On June 30th of this year, I retired as the Dean. For my retirement, I purchased a pontoon boat to sail the bays at our Delaware beach home. |
