I attended Kutztown State College after LAHS, where I received my BA degree in Art Education. I taught in Sharon Hill Elementary School and substituted in many Delco schools. I even had the opportunity to sub for our Aldan Junior High art teacher, Mrs. Palanica at Ridley High a few times.

I married Jim Patton from Penn Pines, Upper Darby. Since we lived only a couple of blocks from each other; he tells everyone we went to different schools together. We moved to the Media area where we lived for 35 years in Riddlewood.

We had three children. Dreux is an OBGYN doctor and his wife Katy is a neurologist. They have three children, Ryan 10, Megan 8, and Colin 3. They live on Long Island and we go one weekend a month to babysit when they both are on call at the hospital. Mark owns his own custom painting business in Oxford, Chester County. His wife Tonya works in a beauty shop, so her mother and I share babysitting duties for D.J. 9, and Mark 7 a couple of days a week. Our youngest, Tracey Ann, passed away ten years ago with malignant melanoma after only six weeks of marriage. It was our saddest day. All three were avid soccer players from elementary school through college. Jim coached for our local club and for Delco select teams. So all through their school and college days I was the basic “Soccer Mom.”

In my spare time I was a Sabian astrologer, crafter, and for many years did the art work for our community paper, The Riddlewood News. In 2001 we moved to Chester County to Traditions at Inniscrone, an active adult community on a golf course. To maintain my active adult status, my time is spent at the YMCA, traveling here and abroad, knitting club, and making jewelry and other crafts for local craft shows. Hope to see you all in September.
