Carol Shannon De Angelo

After graduation I worked for five years at State Farm Insurance.  After dating for four years, I married my best friend, Dom DeAngelo in 1958.  Subsequently, we had a daughter, Dana, an RN who became Coordinator of Oncology Support Services at Shore Memorial Hospital, and a son, Philip, who is an artist and co-owner of Sagemore Gallery in Ocean City.

We lived in Folcroft for twenty years and summered in Ocean City before my husband's dream to live along the shore came true.  He was transferred to manage several branches for his bank and we were able to move to Ocean City permanently.  The names of Dom's banks changed eight times before he retired.  We tease that he had more bank jobs than Jesse James.

We have always enjoyed young people and working in our church.  For many years we were youth leaders for middle school age children.  I was a Pioneer Girl leader at Aldan Union Church for ten years and I still teach Primary class in Sunday School at Ocean City Baptist Church.  After moving to the shore, I held several advisory positions over a period of twelve years for our local Christian Womens' Club.

My husband and I enjoy the same hobbies: fishing, sailing, biking and walking the beach.  Two years ago we were blessed with a precious grandson, Justin Bush, who fills our lives with giggles, hugs and renewed purpose.  It's like starting over again to watch the changes in a child as he matures.

I read this somewhere and it really sums up our attitude at this stage of our lives,

Our lives are gifts from our heavenly Father; each day a package of  blessings to be shared with others, each minute a present to be   returned to Him filled with joy, purpose and gratitude.
