PRISCILLA WYATT DAVIS
Hi Everyone! I can be remembered as the shortest
one in the class of ‘56. I was in the Majorettes for three years
and also, along with classmate and friend, Mary Saldutti, was student
secretary to “The Baron” (Mr. Paul McClure.) We catalogued all of
his film strips and ordered the movies you saw in class—remember
those big projectors and large reels of film?
After
graduation, I worked as a secretary in a bank, sales office and
a couple of law firms in Philadelphia. I married in 1962 and divorced
in 1979. I have four children and six wonderful grandchildren. We
moved to Bethlehem, PA, in 1968. After the divorce in 1979, I stayed
here and so far have not remarried, but if Mr. Right came along
I would consider a long-term relationship or marriage.
My
oldest son, Neal, is Vice President for a company that sells pet
products. He spends many weekends going to dog shows up and down
the coast and as far west as Chicago. He just finished with Westminster.
He is married to Rosalie, a Phys Ed teacher, and they have two daughters,
Kaitlyn, 11, and Erin, 6. Both girls are involved with Irish Step
Dancing and have won many competitions.
My
daughter, Renee is a hair stylist, which she enjoys. I am amazed
at how much this child of mine gets for a haircut. Needless to say,
Mom gives her a nice tip, but does not have to pay full price! She
is married with two children. Patrick is 10 and into snowboarding
right now, and Nicole, age 6,, just started Brownies. Renee is also
raising her brother Joseph’s children. That gives her two girls
age 6, who are just six months apart, and then Joseph who is 7.
She is very busy with all their activities.
Next
in line is Kevin, who is not married and works as a carpet installer.
When I down-sized, he went on his own. Joseph works for a trucking
company and is very involved with his children.
In
1977 I graduated from Northampton County Area Community College
with an Associate Degree in nursing. For 23 years I worked as an
RN in a hospital in Bethlehem. After retiring in 2000 I worked part-time
at a fabric store and a nursing home. Three years ago I began working
in a Methadone Clinic three afternoons a week. I feel as though
I have come full circle. I started my nursing career in an Alcohol
Detox unit, did about 20 years of medical/surgical, and am now back
in the addictions field again.
In my free
time I like to read, sew, crochet and work on the family genealogy.
In 2001 Mary Ann Davis Keefe and I went to Ireland and had a great
time. Right now we are planning a short trip to the Maine coast.
I am looking forward to seeing you all
in September 2006.
