Lansdowne's Oldest Resident
| "The Sycamore tree in this picture is over 350 years old. It is located in what is now called 'Sycamore Park' on East LaCrosse Avenue between Highland and Wycombe Avenues. The house that used to be behind it was #47. From 1944 to 1951, classmate Allen E Gordon, formerly lived at #48 across the street. This picture was taken in either 1996 or 1997. Note the perspective when compared to the two storey houses that are on an embankment next door. There were many large trees in this block in the late 40's. Even then, no one was allowed to climb this one." |
