After graduating from LAHS, my education included:

•  Grove City College - B.S. in Commerce - Graduated 1960

•  Geneva College - Teaching credits - Completed 1962

•  Villanova University Graduate School - M.S. in Counseling - Graduated 1992

•  Villanova University Drug and Alcohol Certification Program - Completed 1996

•  Gestalt Institute of Philadelphia - became a Certified Gestalt Therapist - 1999

My Work Experience includes:

•  Teaching high school business education courses at 3 different schools from 1962 to 1995. I retired from teaching in June, 1995.

•  Working part-time as a drug and alcohol therapist from 1992 to present.

I have one biological daughter and 2 grandchildren, a boy and a girl. I'm divorced. I took in 2 other children during my child-raising years to encourage them to try to have a better life. One was a girl my daughter met in grade school. She had a terrible home life. She lived with us for 5 years. The other was a boy I knew from a friend who subsequently died while the boy was in the Army. When he got out he needed a place to stay while he went for some further education. He stayed with me for a year. I am still in contact with these people who have both married and each have a child. I am known as "Grandmom" or "Mom Mom" to their children. One of the children is having a child in September so I will become "Great Mom Mom" to that one, I think. Anyway, they are all just great.

My hobbies include ballroom dancing and traveling. I took up ballroom dancing in 1997 after retiring from teaching and I love it!! I do not look like those people one sees on TV, though. I would have had to have started dancing when I was about 5 to do that or else dance every day for hours!

I was lucky to be able to go to Europe twice in the 1980's. I have been to England, Italy, France, Switzerland, and a quick afternoon in Germany. I have also been on 2 cruises to different parts of the Caribbean in the past 5 years and am planning to go to Hawaii in 2006.

I acquired an autoimmune disease in 2004 called Myasthenia Gravis. It has caused me to have double vision so don't be surprised if you see me with a black patch on one eye. The disease also causes weakness in all the muscles of my body. My medicine helps keep me stronger so that I can do most things as I did before.
