Bobbi Roberts Kauffman
After graduation from LAHS, I attended Stratford College in Danville, Virginia, but when I returned to Lansdowne for the summer, I interviewed for a job with American Airlines and got it. So, that became my career for the next twenty years. It was a wonderful time in my life where I got to fly to almost every part of the world.
I married in ‘72 and lived for a while in upper Bucks County and then moved to Florida in the 80's, where I’ve lived ever since. This is home now, a slice of paradise, except during hurricane season!!
Since leaving American, I have continued in the travel industry, owning my own agency for a while here in Hobe Sound, but I sold it when the airlines withdrew commissions. Now I work for an agency as an outside sale rep. I am divorced but have a special significant other who brings joy and happiness into my life everyday. Bill Britton (or Bill) and I share the love of boating, traveling, and our two dogs, an Australian Shepherd and a Border Collie. I am also very active in the local chamber of commerce and started the local chapter of the Florida Australian Shepherd Club.
I have two grandchildren, Kyle and Courtney, and an adopted grandchild, Bennett, from Guatemala. I went there with a very dear friend, Lisa, to pick him up this past February. He and I share the same birthday. He’ll be one year old this September and I’ll be 60 something!
Waverly McCall Shirreffs and I met for lunch a while back and thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice to try to have a 50th class reunion?” After all, this is an occasion that will only happen once in our lifetime, so hence we began the adventure of trying to find former classmates. Through the help of many, we were able to succeed. Now here we are, all of us looking forward to the big day. See you there.
