Every business faces a tremendous challenge in the allocation of their finite marketing budget. If the business finds the most cost-effective channels, sales and market-share can profitably increase. If your competitors find more cost-effective channels, your sales and market-share may plummet, no matter how good your product or product-price is. If you are in charge of the constant search for the most cost-effective advertising for your business, then you should consider Beryl’s World JV (Joint Venture), “Out2.com.”
RCG-6.2: Out2.com Overview
Out2.com publishes approximately 12,000 online community newspapers. Their readership exceeds 100,000 unique readers per day, with monthly readership between 3,000,000 and 7,000,000 people. While their heaviest concentration of readers are in the South East states (Georgia, Florida, and Texas), they are in the process of increasing readership nationwide. The first time a person visits Out2.com, they use menus to identify their hometown. A computer-cookie enables subsequent visits to Out2.com to begin at the hometown edition. Special local sports, local political, and local school news can be found in most South East cities, especially Florida. These features will be rolled out to editions across the country in 2003.
RCG-6.3: Advertising Options
There are four methods for a Beryl’s World JV to advertise in one, many, or all of the Out2.com editions. Those methods are: (1) rate card, (2) pay-for performance, (3) Manual Advertorial, and, (4) Automated Advertorial. With the first two methods, banner and display ads are placed in one, many, or all editions based either on a traditional rate card program or with a nominal deposit ($500 to $1,500) that is applied against a commission paid on back-end sales.
RCG-6.4: Advertorials
Out2.com provides the ability for any member of the general public to upload news articles and editorials to their local edition, including graphic and/or photo. At the current time, Beryl’s World JV’s can place “advertorials” that promote products and services if they are professionally written as “human interest” stories, into any single local edition, free-of-charge. Access to an optional login screen that automatically publishes a single Advertorial to all 12,000 editions may be purchased for $500 per month plus one percent of gross sales realized from Out2.
RCG-6.5: Special offer to Beryl’s World JVs
At Beryl’s World, we encourage our JVs to make special offers to increase the profitability of as many other Beryl’s World JVs as possible. To this end, Out2.com has developed a tremendous offer to any existing Beryl’s World clients. Those clients may sign up for twelve months of the optional Out2.com Automated Advertorial Posting Option for a flat $500 for twelve months. (Not PER month, but for the WHOLE TWELVE MONTHS.) In addition, Out2.com will WAIVE the 1% back-end commission for the twelve months. This is an incredible offer, but Out2 must receive payment from Beryl’s World JVs no later than December 27th, 2002.
